UsageIf you are not an NTU affiliate or student, upon entering the library for the first time, register at the computer located towards the right, near the newspaper room. Enter an ID number corresponding to the form of identification you brought with you. A passport number, or even a student ID number from a student ID will be fine. Enter a phone number, address, and whether you will be bringing in your laptop. After registering, you can enter the library by giving the front desk your ID, after which they will give you a reader's card (閱覽證) and print out a receipt with instructions for logging into the free wireless internet available inside the library. After entering a standard WEP password, your web access will be blocked at first by a university proxy, which will require you to log in with the username and password provided on the receipt. You cannot bring bags or backpacks into the library but laptop computers are permitted. You can store your belongings in the locker room in the basement floor to the left of the front security gate (10NT, refunded). FacilitiesThe library has open stacks using both Dewey and Library of Congress systems depending on the language of the book. Reference materials and periodicals are found on the first floor with most works of history found on second floor. Computers: Computers available on each floor.
