Back issues are already available as PDFs through the EMJ webpage, and the prospect of reaching a larger audience with lower costs is too good to pass up. <\/p>\n<p>In other Early Modern News, most of us in the field have probably already heard about the death of Edo scholar extraordinaire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2005\/08\/24\/books\/24shively.html\">Donald Shively<\/a>. [thanks to my <a href=\"http:\/\/100wordminimum.org\/\">translator friend<\/a> for the NYTimes obit; it&#8217;s good that he&#8217;s getting wider notice] My library is replete with his work, and yours should be, too.
