{"id":262,"date":"2007-05-16T19:53:00","date_gmt":"2007-05-17T00:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.froginawell.net\/china\/2007\/05\/us-consular-report-on-events-in-taiwan-after-228\/"},"modified":"2014-08-30T13:40:04","modified_gmt":"2014-08-30T13:40:04","slug":"us-consular-report-on-events-in-taiwan-after-228","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/froginawell.net\/frog\/2007\/05\/us-consular-report-on-events-in-taiwan-after-228\/","title":{"rendered":"US Consular Report on Events in Taiwan after 2.28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Though I haven&#8217;t read much on the events surrounding the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/228_Incident\">2.28<\/a> violence in Taiwan in 1947, it generated a lot of paperwork for the state department which I am coming across as I look through the microfilms of their documents from that year.<\/p>\n<p>For those who might be interested in reading about the event, from the perspective of a US diplomat at the time, I have uploaded a memorandum from April, 1947 written by Vice Consul <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/George_H._Kerr\">George H. Kerr<\/a> summarizing the events before, during and in the weeks after 2.28.
