One thing that struck me was the disclaimer at the bottom of the first page. &#8220;The Princeton East Asian Library in no way supports the rhetoric or depictions                         that are presented on the prints.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What is that supposed to mean? I can think of two possibilites.<\/p>\n<p>1. As a notoriously conservative institution<sup id=\"rf1-426\"><a href=\"#fn1-426\" title=\"How many Princeton alums does it take to change a lightbulb?&lt;\/p&gt;\n&lt;p&gt;Four. One to change the bulb and three to point out how much better the old bulb was.\" rel=\"footnote\">1<\/a><\/sup> Princeton is opposed to the overthrow\u00a0 of the Qing dynasty and is still hoping for the return of the Manchus.<\/p>\n<p>2. Something other reason. But what could it <a href=\"http:\/\/www.froginawell.net\/china\/2006\/04\/japans-war-guilt\/\">be<\/a>?<\/p>\n<hr class=\"footnotes\"><ol class=\"footnotes\" style=\"list-style-type:decimal\"><li id=\"fn1-426\"><p >How many Princeton alums does it take to change a lightbulb?<\/p>\n<p>Four.
