**Kirin Bank (吉林銀行)** 1920 Authorized ¥300,000 Paid-up ¥75,000 Kirin of the remaining business to a liquidation committee. The bank has contributed largely to the development of Sino-Russian trade, and the amount lent by the bank to Chinese produce dealers, liangchang, and bean mill operators is fairly large. The bank attempted to collect these loans immediately and transfer the remaining business to the Far Eastern Loan Bank of Germany, but China objected, and issued an order instructing the Chinese, not to fulfil their obligations to the bank. In October, the Governor of the Special District ordered to the Municipal Administration Bureau of Harbin, Traders' Association and Banks in the Special District to form a trustee committee for the bank's properties, and secured by force the right of liquidating the bank. The reason given for this step was that the dissolution of the bank was against the law, but it is understood that among the debtors to the bank there were many prominent Chinese who resorted to this measure in order to escape the collection of their debts. After the Sino-Soviet agreement, however, it was decided by a special general meeting of shareholders to re-open the bank and this was accordingly done in February, 1930. The bank has branches at Shanghai, Tientsin and Changchiakou (Kalgan). — p. 244 ([scan leaf 276](https://archive.org/details/the-manchuria-year-book-1931/page/n276/mode/1up))
