The scan's page order is scrambled in places (parts of the Who's Who and of Chapter III are bound out of sequence); tables are filed under their printed pages. The first sheet of the fold-out on p. 658 (railway-secured foreign loans) is missing from the scan, so that table starts at sheet 658 b. On Who's Who p. 998 a strip near the right margin is missing from the scan, leaving gaps marked [illegible]. Treaty texts, laws and regulations are transcribed only where they contain tables or lists; numbered articles are prose. The Contents, indexes and advertisements are not transcribed. The Chinese Who's Who (pp. 919–1002) is on the Who's Who page. Many printed totals do not add up; the figures are kept as printed and each table's notes say where.
