The Chinese Year Book 1944-1945

Seventh Issue
Council of International Affairs, Chungking; printed and published in Shanghai by the China Daily Tribune Publishing Co., 1946

Only tables, columnar lists, the chronology and the biographical sketches are transcribed; prose, advertisements, maps, graphs and the index are not. Pages with tables were found from contact sheets by Claude Sonnet 5.5, which also flagged pages printed sideways (turned upright before reading), very dense tables and tables continued over pages. A table running over several pages was read in one call with all its pages, up to eight pages (six for dense tables); longer runs were read in parts and joined where the column headings match. Each page was read once and not checked by eye; unreadable figures are marked [?], and printed totals that do not add up are noted and kept as read. The Chronology of Major Events, 1944 and 1945, is on the Chronologies page, each page read once by Claude Haiku 5.5, with dates carried over from date headings written out in full. The biographical sketches of the Chinese delegates to the San Francisco Conference (Appendix I of International Conferences) are on the Who's Who & Directories page. The contents were read once by Claude Haiku 5.5.
