The scan is complete: no printed pages are missing and no leaves repeat. Part I runs to p. 614; the Appendix (SCAP directives, the new Constitution and post-war laws, documents of 1945–47, the war-crimes indictment and a List of Emperors) is paged again from 1. The Appendix is almost all legal text, so only its lists are transcribed. A few cells on folding inserts are lost in the fold and are left blank. The index, advertisements and a short run of church-group entries (printed pp. 489–490) are not transcribed.
