The store profiles, staff lists, address book and supplier directory are transcribed as directory entries, and the official price lists as tables; the laws, the prose notes to the price notices, and the advertisements are not. The directories were read by Claude Sonnet 5.5 and the price lists by Claude Opus 5.5 (the prices are printed in tightly packed kanji numerals and were read from enlarged crops), each spread once, with no checking by eye. Figures and characters a reader could not make out with certainty are [?] or [illegible]. Where a store's staff list carries on without its heading, or a block of figures sits apart from its store, the reader's placement is noted in the entry's file. Price lists that run over several spreads were read in pieces and joined. The book prints all its price lists as one part, 公定價格要覽, with no divisions beyond its 41 sections; the seven chapters shown here in square brackets are groupings made for this site, in the printed order, and are not in the book.
