Printed pp. 2–3, 6–7, 760–761, 816–817, 1064–1065, 1082–1083, 1138–1139 and 1142–1143 are missing from the scan, so the tables, entries and lists on them are absent. All statistical tables and columnar lists, the economic barometers, the officials' lists, the Who's Who, the business directory, the Konzerns of Japan, the bibliography, the learned and social institutions, the diplomatic and consular lists and the dated chronologies are transcribed; the running text, photographs, maps, advertisements, organisation charts and charts without printed figures are not. Pages with tables were found from contact sheets. Haiku 5.5 agents read the simpler table pages, Sonnet 5.5 agents most other pages and the directories, and Opus 5.5 agents the large or difficult tables; every printed total was re-added, and totals that did not reconcile, doubtful digits and uncertain kanji were re-read on zoomed crops by Opus 5.5 — where the print itself does not add up, the figures are kept as printed and noted. The book's printed contents, with every chapter and most sections linked to their page of the scan, are on the contents page.
