All 210 numbered tables are transcribed, with the appendix table of weights and measures (度量衡比較表); the contents, the statistical charts (統計圖表), the prose survey (概說), the maps and the colophon are not. Tables printed across both pages of a spread are joined into one, and long tables run over several spreads are written once. Printed totals were re-added by the readers: totals that do not add up are kept as printed and noted. Where a digit was ambiguous only between 3 and 8 and exactly one reading made a printed total reconcile, that reading is used and noted. Small figures printed above a cell (foreigners and similar) are given in the same cell after the figure; the small quantity figures printed above the values in the trade tables 183–186 were too blurred to read and are left out. The volume's errata slip (正誤表, 19 corrections) is attached as a note to each table it concerns; the figures stay as printed. About 50 of some 40,500 figure cells could not be read and are marked [?]; a literal ? printed in the book is kept as ?.
