Full text in English translation. The heading prints "Imperial Ordinance No. 704 of October 16th of 1939 (14th year of Showa)" (the word "of" after "16th" is a damaged sort); the date field follows that, but the index and the "Ordinances Recently Promulgated" column of the December 1939 issue (p. 243) date the rent ordinance October 18, 1939. Article labels are centred on their own lines in the source. Ends with a "(For reference)" extract from Law No. 16 of 1924, kept as printed. Source oddities kept as printed - Art. 9 has "leased-house" twice (the first presumably for "leased-land"); Art. 10 "the governor of it detached government"; Art. 3 no. 1 has "August 4th" then "August 5th".
