Only tables are transcribed; the contents, 凡例 and the folding map are not. Figures are printed as kanji numerals in vertical type and are given here in Arabic numerals; tables are turned into ordinary rows and columns. Where the only doubt was how a stack of 一/二/三 strokes groups and exactly one reading made a printed total reconcile, that reading is used and noted. Every figure that a transcriber changed after a total check was read again by a second, independent reader. The two densest bank tables (第一〇三表 and 第一〇六表) were transcribed twice independently and every disagreement was judged by a third reader; cells on which the readings could not be reconciled are marked [?]. Printed totals that do not add up are kept as printed and noted.
