Only the directory entries and the tables are transcribed; the city descriptions, advertisements, photographs and maps are not. Each directory entry keeps the English and Japanese printings of a firm together, so a firm can be found by either name; where the two printings disagree (telephone numbers, addresses, a different Japanese name) both are kept as printed and the entry has a note. Doubtful Japanese names were re-read at high zoom; unreadable characters are marked [?]. Many printed pages are missing from the scan (among them parts of Taoan, Taonan, Peian to Imienpo, Kungchuling, Ssupingkai, Kaiyuan, Tieling, Liaoyang, Anshan, Tashihchiao and Pulantien), so those cities are incomplete or absent.
